Crimsafe Security Screens

Securelux is a Crimsafe Authorised Licensee with over 43 years of experience in security. Independently tested, Australian made, and installed by our own employed team.

Why Crimsafe

Revolutionising security screen design for over 25 years

Crimsafe revolutionised security screen design, using a woven stainless steel mesh that was not only stronger than other products but significantly more attractive than old-fashioned bars and grilles. As an Authorised Crimsafe Licensee, Securelux supplies and installs the full range across Brisbane, Ipswich, and the Gold Coast.

Crimsafe has many imitators, and you may hear the phrase “Crimsafe-equivalent”. There is no equivalent. Crimsafe outperforms competitor products in independent testing. If it’s not Crimsafe, it’s not “crim safe”.

Engineering

What makes Crimsafe strong

Tensile-Tuff mesh

0.9mm, 304-grade stainless steel wire. Heavier and with up to 26% more material than competitor 0.8mm mesh, making it harder to cut or penetrate.

Screw-Clamp technology

Bites down on the mesh in a vice-like grip, holding it into the frame. Absorbs and disperses impact, strongly resisting being pulled out.

25.4mm interlock

Double the 13mm industry standard. More contact area between frame and door means fewer weak points for forced entry.

Energy performance

Reduces solar heat gain by up to 53%. Increases window cooling efficiency to a 3 Star WERS rating. Blocks 62% of harmful UV rays.

Crimsafe impact resistance comparison diagram

When tested by the University of Queensland, Crimsafe screens withstood singular impact levels up to 550J (Regular) and 750J (Ultimate) - compared to the 5 x 100J required by AS 5039. The mesh is heavier than competitor products and the Screw-Clamp system prevents it from being pulled out under force.

Colour options

13 standard colours, plus woodgrain finishes

Crimsafe frames are available in 13 standard powder-coated colours, from Marble Black Satin and Deep Ocean Satin through to Classic Pearl White Gloss, Paperbark Satin and Woodland Grey Satin. Woodgrain, anodised, and custom colour options are also available on application.

All Crimsafe products withstand 3,000 hours in a Prohesion accelerated cyclic corrosion test - equivalent to 30 years of environmental exposure.

Independent testing

Tested by the University of Queensland

Crimsafe screens were tested at the University of Queensland, clearing singular impact levels up to 550J (Regular) and 750J (Ultimate). The current AS 5039 Australian Standard requires 5 impacts at 100J each. Crimsafe exceeds this by a significant margin.

  • Fire: 59% attenuation rating, suitable for BAL-FZ
  • Cyclone: passes debris tests at 36 m/s; specialist screens at 44 m/s
  • Insects: mesh prevented 99% of mosquitoes from passing through
  • Corrosion: equivalent to 30 years of environmental exposure
